Today
we were performing our theatre in education performance to a practitioner who
then gave us some feedback.
Alys
from UCAN productions watched our performance today and then gave us some
feedback at the end. She was also able to video this performance so we can
watch it and see how we can improve ourselves. Here is a video of a full run
through of the show:
Here
is a video of Alys giving us some feedback from the show:
As
you can see from the video, Alys gave us lots of great comments and ideas which
we can use to improve our performance. Some of the comments that she gave me
where:
· Let Annie Apple have a
reaction to the concept of Sweetie Day
· Great energy in songs
throughout
· Good, clear
instructions at the start with the shakers
· Nice easy moves for the
children to copy in Tanzie’s Tropical Fruit Song
· Maybe invite children
to come onto stage and copy the moves in Tanzie’s Tropical Fruit Song
· More energy when
entering
General
group notes:
· More audience
participation
· A bit more energy in
the songs
· More tension before the
Sweetie Monster enters
· Need to consider
children will shake their shakers when Sweetie Monster comes on in his car
· Get Nancy Narrator
involved more
We
then had some feedback from Danielle who is the assistant director. Danielle
was meant to be in this performance but unfortunately it clashes with her work
experience in France. She is now helping us to improve the performance.
Here is a video of Danielle giving the group some feedback:
Here
are some of the comments that Danielle gave us:
· More cheerful and
louder in the Sweetie Day song
· Fruity Kingdom song has
been improving but still needs to be a bit louder
Alys
coming in today to watch our performance and give us some feedback is really
useful as she hasn’t seen it before and she brought along her own ideas. We
will have another practitioner coming in in January who will also watch the
performance and give us some feedback. In the meantime we can take into
consideration all the notes that Alys has given us which will help to improve
the performance.
You need to get your 'problem solving' head on for some of this feedback Charlotte, as it needs to be acted on and incorporated into the performance.
